Update on Ollie (Oliver)

We got Ollie July, 2024 at 10wks and I left a great review. Well, he will be 1yr old in a couple of weeks and what a journey it’s been! Ollie has literally changed my life. Doodles are highly active and our daily walks and mountain hikes have helped me to lose 75lbs and got me in great shape. He’s well known around town and so loved. He’s very well socialized with people, dogs and cats. He loves the dog park, his puppy pool, playing in the snow and loves to play ball. He has a million stuffed toys and is so gentle with them. He hasn’t chewed even one of them apart. Oliver is incredibly intelligent. I’ve taught him numerous tricks within minutes and he’s very well leash trained. But, it’s been a year of a lot of time and effort spent to create an amazing best friend that I hope I have for many years to come. I recently lost my 12 yr old lab, who Oliver was extremely close to, so it’s been tough. Everyone keeps telling me to get another dog for him and if I ever do, it will definitely be from Elton and his family. Ollie doesn’t shed, but he does have a sensitive gut, which I’ve since learned is common in this breed, so make sure you’re feeding yours a high-quality food and not too many different kinds of bones and treats. I feed him Badlands Ranch air-dried kibble and he loves it SOOOO much I use it for treat training as well, which avoids further gut issues. A good probiotic is also vital. He doesn’t nap much during the day, but he sleeps a good 14 or more hours at night. He’s a very structured dog, who knows what time it is at any given time. He knows when it’s time for his walk, mealtime, playtime, etc. I’ve had a lot of dogs over the yrs and none compares to him. But a word of advice, don’t get a puppy for their cuteness. Do your research and make sure they fit into your lifestyle. Oliver has already grown to around 53lbs, is highly active and needs a lot of attention. Giving him his walks and playtime avoids naughty behavior. There isn’t a doggy more loved than my Olly Bolly!!! 💕🐾💕🐾
